Regine Juhls sterling silver "Tundra" brooch. It is sculptural in nature and has an uneven textured finish. The rear of the brooch has a silver pin and rollover clasp closure. It measures approximately 6.5 x 7.5 cm. Weight is 30.5 grams. It is marked JUHLS 925 S for sterling silver on the rear. It is in very good condition.
This brooch is part of the 1960's "Tundra" series created by Regine Juhls at the Frank and Regine Juhls jewellery studio in Northern Norway. The Tundra series was inspired by the folk traditions of the Sami and Lap people. Juhls pieces are quite rare and they are known for being at the forefront of excellent organic modernist design.
